About the DRFA exceptional circumstances package/s

The 2025 North and Far North Tropical Low recovery operation includes a suite of exceptional circumstances funding developed to support eligible communities, families, small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations severely impacted by the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025 event.

To date, the following DRFA exceptional circumstances package components have been announced:

Environment

The Community Relief Fund, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, is available to impacted councils to undertake essential immediate recovery activities.

Economic

Ingham flood
Extraordinary Disaster Assistance may be available for Not-for-Profit Organisations and Small Businesses affected by the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025 event.

Burdekin flooding
Extraordinary Disaster Assistance for Primary Producers following the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025 event.
Flooded farm
The Coordinated Emergency Fodder Support Package supports activities to ensure primary producers have access to emergency fodder crucial for sustaining cattle and mitigating the impacts of flooding and loss of pasture in areas impacted by the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025.
Townsville flooding 2024
The Rural Landholder Recovery Grant Scheme offers grants of up to $10,000 to help rural landholders pay for the costs of clean-up and reinstatement of a damaged primary production enterprise a result of the North and Far North Tropical Low, commencing 29 January 2025.

$30 million Sport and Recreation Disaster Recovery Program hat will help rebuild and repair sport and recreation facilities impacted by the 2025 North and Far North Tropical Low.
 Community and Recreational Assets Recovery Program - 2025 North and Far North
The $20 million Community and Recreational Assets Recovery Program aims to repair and rebuild affected community and recreational facilities damaged by the North and Far North Tropical Low 2025.
