Latest Reconstruction Monitoring
Reconstruction Monitoring visiting western Queensland.
The Queensland Reconstruction Authority will undertake Reconstruction Monitoring in western Queensland following this year’s flood event.
Between 8-12 September, QRA officers will doorknock around 160 flood impacted homes and businesses across the local government areas of Barcoo, Bulloo, Paroo and Quilpie.
This includes the towns of Adavale, Eulo, Hungerford, Jundah, Stonehenge, Thargomindah, and Yowah.
During Reconstruction Monitoring, QRA officers collect information on property damage, progress of repairs, insurance matters, and residents’ ability to access financial and personal support where required.
This information is shared with councils, relevant state and federal agencies, and other stakeholders to improve their understanding of the recovery needs and priorities of disaster impacted Queenslanders and Queensland communities.
If residents are unavailable, a calling card with QRA contact details and instructions is left in the letterbox or another appropriate place.
The Queensland Community Recovery Hotline, 1800 173 349, is available 24/7 for residents needing additional disaster support.
Residents with insurance concerns should contact their insurer. If they cannot resolve the issues directly they can lodge a dispute with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority via www.afca.org.au.
